Strengthening the Circle2010 Native Nonprofit Leadership Program: Strengthening the Circle aims to build the capacities of experienced and emerging nonprofit organizations that respond to the needs of American Indian youth and their families. This Native Nonprofit Leadership Program consists of a four-day workshop for forty executive directors and Board members with follow-up technical assistance and training. Interested Native nonprofit leaders, and those preparing to start a nonprofit organization, are encouraged to print the letter of invitation and application below and apply. The next Strengthening the Circle workshop will take place in Bozeman, Montana in April, 2011. Travel, lodging, instruction, and materials will be covered for applicants that are accepted into the 2011 program. In addition to the four-day training session, each participant will receive a Program Guidebook, resources for board development, fundraising and tribal youth program planning, twenty hours of consulting or coaching, and ongoing support through your peers. Graduates of Strengthening the Circle serve as mentors. Collectively, these leaders have built stronger organizations with more resources to positively impact Native youth and families. Strengthening the Circle is made possible with generous support from the O.P. and W.E. Edwards Foundation and the Northern Environmental Support Trust. Program partners include the Seventh Generation Fund, Indian Nonprofit Alliance, Artemisia Associates, WolfStar PR, and the Foundation for Community Vitality.
