| Hopa Mountain invests in rural and tribal citizen leaders who are working to improve education, ecological health, and economic development in their hometowns. |
Strengthening the Circle aims to strengthen the capacities of experienced and emerging nonprofit organizations that respond to the needs of American Indian youth, especially those organizations serving youth or involving youth in their programs on Indian reservations. This Native Nonprofit Leadership Program consists of two four-day workshops for twenty executive directors and board members with follow-up support between sessions. The first workshop will take place in Bozeman, Montana April 29-May 2. The second workshop will take place in Lame Deer, Montana October 14-17, 2008. Travel, lodging, instruction, and materials will be covered for applicants that are accepted into the program and are committed to attending both training sessions. In addition to the two four-day training sessions, each participant will receive a Program Guidebook, resources for board development and tribal youth service program planning, eight hours of consulting or coaching, and ongoing support through your peers.
