Scholars of Promise

Hopa Mountain offers several college preparation programs to help Montana high school students apply to and succeed at colleges/universities or vocational schools of their choice.

Upcoming Scholars Events:

Hopa Mountain offers several higher education preparation programs to support high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors who are planning to attend college. If you are a high school student in Montana who has a GPA of 3.0 or above and will be the first in your family to go to college or self-identify as low-income, you are invited to apply to Hopa Mountain’s Scholars of Promise program. If you are in foster care, kinship care, or homeless, you can apply with a 2.5 GPA.

If you are a high school student with a GPA of 2.5 or above and are interested in earning a health-related degree, you are invited to apply to our Health Scholars of Promise program.

If you are a Native American student, enrolled or descendant, with a 3.0 GPA or above, you are invited to apply to our Indigenous Scholars of Promise program.

These college preparation programs will provide students with training, mentoring, and support services through college graduation day.

Program Benefits:

  • Training and coaching meetings to help prepare you to apply to a college or vocational program and succeed once you are there.

  • Assistance with application/testing fees, and scholarship applications.

  • Mentor and peer support throughout the college and vocational school preparation process.

  • Recognition through participation in the Scholars of Promise program.

GPA Requirements:
ISP & HSP: 3.0 GPA
Foster Scholars program: 2.5 GPA

Vocational Scholarship
- Apply by January 9, 2026 -
This $2,000 need-based scholarship opportunity is open to students entering a vocational training program (skilled trade, automotive, culinary, medical technician, cosmetology, etc). Priority given to students who were formerly in foster care, kinship care, or homeless.
